The Certificate Program in Aging is designed to meet the need for education and updated information for professionals working with the elderly in a variety of settings.  Hunter College website gives you Institutes and Programs, and Certificate Programs in what classes are offered.  On the website you can also see Calendar of Events, Publications List, Senior Rights Report and Medicaid Figures for 2004. Established at the Brook dale Center on Aging at Hunter College in 1976, the Program offers courses taught by clinical psychiatrists and psychologists, attorneys, agency administrators, and university professors.

The Gerontology Institute was founded in 1980.  Our  charter is threefold: to disseminate information on aging; to provide Educational Programs, Seminars, Conferences and Workshops for professionals in Health Care and related fields and the publication of our newsletter "Update on Aging" which offers current information, research and resources in gerontology. Their web page offers you a Seminar Itinerary with scheduled classes and directions, and all their membership fees.      We also provide in-house training programs in gerontology at institutions and work sites.  Gerontology Institute membership is worldwide in scope with many members in the United States and Eastern Europe, but others as far away as Asia and South America.

The Center provides consultation and technical assistance to academic, government, public and private organizations and is an active member of two inter-university research consortia. The first is the Canadian Consortium for Health Promotion Research, which links the Center with 14 other universities from across Canada . The second is the Canadian Study of Health and Aging, which links 18 universities.
