Information about
comparative experiments based on many past studies that have
shown a reduction in cognitive abilities with age. A total of
62 subjects were used in the studies. The younger adults were
in their 20s, and the older adults were in their 70s and 80s.
The older adults were chosen for the study because they were
healthy and free of any signs of dementia disorders such as
Alzheimer’s disease.

York
University
Medical
Center
. The Center provides expertise in
psychiatry, neurology, geriatric medicine, neuroradiology and
neuropathology. The ADRC has contributed many significant
findings that help clinicians, research scientists, and
elderly patients and their families gain a better
understanding of both Alzheimer's disease and the effects of
aging. The ADRC and its affiliated research programs have been
designated as a center of excellence for Alzheimer’s disease
research by the National Institute on Aging. The ADRC is a
multidisciplinary research center of the Alzheimer’s Disease
Center, supported by federal and private sources, is directed
toward the study of normal aging and improved clinical
diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
