Commencement Day & Order of Processional

Students may robe in the Avena Lounge, and begin assembling for the processional on Zeckendorf Plaza by 8:30 am. The undergraduate and graduate processional will be led by faculty representatives from each school. You will assemble in Zeckendorf Plaza by 8:30AM and march with your respective school onto the Athletics Field. Psychology Doctoral candidates assemble in the Wellness, Recreation, and Athletic Center by 9:15. Please enter via the DeKalb entrance where you will robe and then march in the platform party processional. All guests of graduates with appropriate tickets must enter directly on to the Athletics Field through the gates on Willoughby Street. Several guides will be available to assist guests. Gates will open for admission at approximately 8:00 a.m

Elderly and Infirm

Please ask ushers for directions to the special section for the elderly reserved on the field. Be sure to arrange a post-recessional meeting place with these guests.

Graduates or Guests with Disabilities

If you have a special accessibility need (e.g. wheelchair access, sign language interpretation, need for Braille, large print or recorded commencement program), please contact Diana Voelker at (718) 488-1533 by May 2, 2011.

Recessional

The Faculty will exit from the Athletics Field following the exit of the platform party. The marshals will leave the Athletic Field followed by the graduates.

Receptions

Immediately following the Commencement Exercises, at approximately midday, there will be a reception on the courtyard for graduates and their guests. This will be followed by the individual presentation of symbolic degrees to each student at a reception given by the dean of each respective School or College. Refreshments will be available.
